PASCO, Wash.-- This week's heat is boosting foot traffic for indoor activities with air conditioning.
At Fairchild Cinemas in Pasco, they're seeing more people coming in as the temperatures rise and they're coming earlier in the day than usual.
At the Mid-Columbia Libraries, people are using the computers and checking out a good read to stay cool and occupied indoors.
"Seeing an influx, especially with school out and the really hot temperatures. People can come in for a nice rest bit," said Jennifer Aalgaard, Mid-Columbia Libraries.
"We have the early morning kids shows and we've had a lot of those people coming in just because it's starting to get hot so early in the morning. They're trying to stay out of it," said Diane Munson, Fairchild Cinemas.
The hot days are giving these indoor locations a boost in business.
Fairchild Cinemas expects steady ticket sales to continue as the temperatures hover near the century mark.
