EWU Hockey is pleased to announce that forward Dylan Tappe (Spokane, WA) has committed for the 2013/14 season. Tappe comes to EWU after finishing his junior hockey career with the Spokane Braves of the KIJHL. Tappe spent parts of four seasons with the Braves amassing 177 points in 158 games. Between tours of duty with the Braves he also played for three different
BCHL franchises (Westside, Trail, and Prince George) accumulating 20 points in 65 games.
Eagles Coach Bill Shaw said of Tappe "We have been looking at Dylan for a few years now and discussed him becoming an Eagles a few times. After spending two years in the BCIHL we have made adding depth up front a priority and getting a point a game player like Dylan should really help that."
Tappe comes from the same program that produced the Nick Redding and Uriah Machuga last season. Both players saw important roles with the team and Tappe is expected to contribute in a similar fashion.
The Eagles are expecting to announce a few more commitments by the end of the month as the look forward to the 2013/14 season.
